Custom "peeking" image
Whenever you request the rendering of a new page's preview / screenshot / thumbnail (and by "new page" we mean a page that has never been requested before), the system takes, depending on your chosen package, a certain time in the queue before actually generating that image. All this time after the new request and before the generation of the image, we would display a standard, "please wait"-like image, which we like to call the "peeking image".
The implicit option for the simpler packages is to display OUR peeking image. When you choose a more advanced package, you get the possibility to create and use your own "peeking" image, thus further customizing your users' experience.
- Your custom domain name thumbnail URL
Normally, all the images generated by our system have a pagepeeker.com URL (e.g. http://pagepeeker.com/t/l/imdb.com). You might, however, want to use a URL that points to your own domain (e.g. http://thumbs.yourdomainname.com/t/l/imdb.com). This is possible, when you choose a package that boasts this custom feature.
- Full URLs, not just home-pages
Some webpage thumbnail generating sites only let you take the screenshot of the root (homepage) of any given site (e.g. http://site.com/), not allowing you to print-screen deeper pages in a site (e.g. http://site.com/some/url/page.html). We, however, give you this possibility, with ALL of our packages.
- SSL URLs
For security reasons, some webpages are hosted on secured servers (you can easily recognize such pages by the fact that their addresses begin with https:// instead of http://). While generally this complicates things a bit, we do provide the possibility to capture the screenshots of secured (SSL) pages, with all but the most basic package on offer.
What further features are available?
We feel that the features offered on our Custom Solutions packages are quite extensive and generous. However, in our working experience, we have encountered customers with even more specific, creative demands. This has been a great experience to us, since it provided new ideas and helped extend the breadth of features we could offer you, on a particular, personally negotiated base. Such features include, without limitation to:
- the possibility to forcefully re-call the rendering of an image (delete it from the system's cache) on demand, via a special API request.
- the possibility to define custom, creative image sizes (such as the novelty image-sizes demanded by the mobile browsing experience etc.)
- the possibility to define your own, chosen image quality - depending on what you feel is an optimal balance between the image quality and the loading time for the user
- dedicated server deployment - which may turn out to be a great asset when your business extends across wider areas and require fast, local servers that cater to your users' needs in local, high-speed times.
